open existing java project in eclipse

  1. File -> Import -> Existing Project into Workspace
  2. Browse for that directory.

Alternative: Check out the code in SVN to some folder

  1. Create a new folder in windows
  2. In eclipse File -> switchWorkspace -> newFolderName
  3. close the welcome window in eclipse
  4. In eclipse File -> Import -> Existing project into workspce-> select root dir -> browse and show the svn checkout folder
