Starting with 14.1, Scratch Files are stored under .IntellijIdea14/config/scratches. They are displayed either in Scratches and Consoles or on the Scratches tab (depends on the version you are using). Current UI: Earlier UI: IntelliJ IDEA Help – Scratch files
Permanently (Ubuntu): File > Settings > Editor > General > Appearance > Show Line Numbers For just the current editor: View > Active Editor > Show Line Numbers
In Preferences, under Editor > General > Editor Tabs, untick the “Show tabs in single row” option.
What you put directly under src/main/java is in the default package, at the root of the classpath. It’s the same for resources put under src/main/resources: they end up at the root of the classpath. So the path of the resource is app-context.xml, not main/resources/app-context.xml.
Below one worked for me ; Go to File > Settings > Build,Execution,Deployment> Build Tools > Maven > Importing . Change VM options for importer to -Didea.maven3.use.compat.resolver

Tip: you can find any action in the menu “Help” -> “Find Action…”. This specific action is in the menu “Tools” -> “New Scratch File…”.

Seems Webpack watch doesn’t work if the file is not saved directly. Please try turning ‘Safe write‘ option ( Settings | Appearance & Behavior | System Settings | Use “safe write” (save changes to temporary file first)) off. In 2020.* the option name is Back up files before saving
